Araras
is a town located in the São Paulo State. About 100.000 people live
in Araras. The temperatures is about 35o C on Summer and 15o C on Winter. The
town's economy is: sugar and alcohol from the sugar cane plantations, orage
plantations, industry and commerce. There are in Araras some colleges:
Agronomy, Psychology, Odontology, Biology, Nurse School, Biochemistry, Pedagogy,
Literatury, History and Geography.
The
name Araras means Macaw, a kind of parrot. When the town
was founded, in 1862, there was a lot of those birds. Now, unfortunately,
there are araras only in the zoo...
